Starting CCGS in the pivotal early years makes all the difference. You've been nurturing them from birth and you've always known what they're capable of. Now they'll find a second home with us in Kindergarten, one where they're known, understood and valued as individuals. A place where they can be safe and happy to learn and grow.
Explore Kindergarten
At the heart of our new Junior ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø campus, four light-filled kindergarten rooms are connected by transparent walls, with their own neighbourhood space, bathrooms and K to 2 play area. Kindergarten enjoy all the facilities of our K to 12 school, including the Performing Arts Centre and extensive indoor and outdoor sport facilities.
Specialist teachers bring their expertise and enthusiasm to Languages, Library, Music, Sport and Visual Art Lessons, right from Kindergarten. Children experience a variety of teaching styles and classroom teachers have time off class to collaborate, assess and liaise with parents. A happy Kindergarten year is the best foundation for the future.
Right from Kindergarten, our youngest next generation learners are curious, excited by the world around them and their place in it. They're ready to create solutions that will make a difference to our world.
Kindergarten can get involved in our extensive program of cocurricular activities before and after school including sports and infants choir - plus band, guitar and string ensembles if they are undertaking private music tuition (which is available on site). Opportunities really expand from Year 3.
Getting started
To help you navigate the school run, we've partnered with Task to provide supportive, safe and engaging out of hours care.
Starting school is a big milestone for children and their families. Five orientations make sure the transition is seamless - and parents can make friends too! An individual session with their teacher just before they start helps understand where they are up to and plan their next step for a flying start at school. The Learning Support team offers extension and support to help every student achieve their personal best.
In general, children should have turned five by March 31 of their Kindergarten year. In this CCGS podcast a kindy mum, a school psychologist and a kindergarten teacher explore school readiness and the skills and preparation that make for a great start.
Enrolling in Kindergarten
Each year we welcome 88 Kindy children across four classes. We contact families registered on our waitlist early in the year before their start date. That's why it's worth registering for enrolment well in advance to have the best chance of placement. For more information head to Enrolment FAQs.
